The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was created in 1965 with responsibility for providing coherence and direction to the Federal Government's equal employment opportunity effort (U.S. Government Manual, 1982/1983). This series consists of records created/received by the Dept. of Public Health General Counsel concerning charges or complaints made against the department. It contains charges of discrimination forms, memoranda, correspondence, notices of right to sue, and other documents used in these cases.
